Summer Learning Program Four Components:  Summer Reading Traditional Summer Reading program with prizes of books, school and art supplies, drawstring bags and grand prizes at the end – 7% of registrants completed the program in 2014  Brain Camp Week-long themed camps at the Main Library’s Hueneke Homework Center and at 20 branches along with mini day camps at 20 branch locations – 2014 attendance exceeded 2,500, up 66% from 2013  Summer Lunch Program Summer Lunch at 14 branch locations – served nearly 18,000 lunches in 2014  Summer Camp Reading New in 2014, pilot at 7 branch locations. Emphasis is on grade level reading with pre and post testing for effectiveness – Final reports show all participants were reading at a higher level than prior to joining the program

Educators are entitled to a special library card with unique borrowing privileges. Educator Card holders may: Borrow up to 150 items (except videocassettes and DVDs). Items are renewed automatically and there are no fines Request a teacher collection in person, by phone, or online.
