Specifications summary

EonStor DS 3024RTEB scores a 5-star review EonStor DS 3024RTEB scores a 5-star review, as recommended by leading UK tech site IT Pro “Infortrend’s hybrid controllers make the EonStor ESDS 3024RTEB very versatile as their 16Gbps FC ports provide high-speed data access whilst the iSCSI ports can be used for low cost disaster recovery replication. Performance is impeccable and it crams in a lot of features and expandability for the price.” Read more:  http://www.itpro.co.uk/storage/22451/infortrend-eonstor-esds-3024rteb-review

EonStor DS 3000 Advantages High performance High scalability Easy upgradable host interface module Rich data services

High performance All cache hit IOPS Read Seq. Read / Write (MB/s) EonStor DS 3000T Gen2: 1.3M All cache hit IOPS Read EonStor DS 3000: 1M Seq. Read / Write (MB/s) EonStor DS 3000/DS3000 T Gen2: 5,500 / 2,200

High scalability Support up to 360 drives LD size up to 512TB in Gen2. Flexible when using higher capacity disks (8TB/10TB) and increases total capacity utilization. Parity disks save and better capacity utilization Simple and flexible storage system configuration and management

Easy upgradable host interface module (I) Hybrid hosts for diverse environments on one system, e.g. Fibre Channel and onboard iSCSI ports

Easy upgradable host interface module (II) Choose 8Gb/s or 16Gb/s Fibre Channel, 1Gb/s or 10Gb/s iSCSI, or 6Gb/s or 12Gb/s SAS host connectivity (host boards) based on your needs and budget  Host board Controller module

Host Board Options Wide host interface options provide more SAN and DAS storage solutions 11

Rich Data Services Advanced data services on mid-range storage Feature Advantage Benefit SSD Cache Copies hot data to high speed SSD cache pool Accelerates performance for random read-intensive applications Automated storage tiering Hot data has higher priority and resides in faster performance tiers. Cold data migrated to lower performance but higher capacity tiers Optimizes utilization of HDDs, SSDs, and RAID levels to enhance ROI Remote replication Data backup with synchronous and asynchronous options in WAN, IP, and FC SAN environments Essential for effective disaster recovery, data backup, or long distance migration SED (Self-encrypting drives) Unique factory encryption secures data plus makes deletion simple and complete Helps users avoid the high costs and other negative consequences of data loss due to breaches , theft, and other events IDR (Intelligent Drive Recovery) Smarter RAID 6 drive clone/replace, data recovery, and media scan Avoids performance-impacting and time-consuming rebuild Snapshot 128-target snapshot included (upgradable to 4096 targets) Users can instantly take point-in-time data images without disrupting online applications and use them as granular recovery points Thin provisioning Automatically allocates system capacity to applications as needed "Just-in-time" capacity allocation helps Increase storage utilization Advanced data services on mid-range storage 13

Data Service Specifications (I) Local replication (snapshot + volume copy/mirror) Snapshot Standard Advanced* Max. snapshots per source volume 64 256 Max .snapshots per system 128 4096 Volume copy/mirror Max. replication source volume 16 32 Max. replication pairs per source volume 4 8 Max. replication pairs per system * Advanced functions available with optional license Local replication and thin provisioning is default included in the ESDS 3000 series. 14 14

Data Service Specifications (III) SSD Cache* Accelerating data access for random read-intensive environment Supports up to four SSDs per controller Recommended DIMM capacity per controller for SSD Cache Pool 2GB DRAM Max. Pool size:150GB 4GB DRAM Max. Pool size:400GB 8GB DRAM Max. Pool size:800GB 16GB DRAM Max. Pool size:1600GB * Available with optional licenses

SSD Cache Accelerated read performance for hot data Suitable for random read-intensive applications, such as Microsoft SQL, mail servers, CRM, Oracle database, SAP, and VDI Large SSD cache pool capacity up to 3.2TB (1.6TB per controller) Wear level information to monitor remaining life expectancy Intelligently moves a copy of the most frequently-accessed data from HDDs to SSD Cache. Sequential read data will not be placed to SSD Cache pool Always keep two copies of hot data, in SSD Cache and HDD Simple and intuitive GUI design Application note:

Maximum Flash Cache Size/ Per System SSD Cache Vendor Model Cache Name Cache Type Read/Write Cache Maximum Flash Cache Size/ Per System Infortrend ESDS 3000 SSD Cache SAS SSD Read 3.2TB EXC VNX5X00 FAXT Cache Read/Write 300GB ~ 2TB NetXpp E5X00 SANtriXity SSD Cache 5TB IXM Storxize V5000, V7000 N/A HXS HXS 1X0 HX MXA 2040 HP, IBM: Only available in high end model

Automated storage tiering Mix different drive types and RAID levels in the same data volume Drive types: SSD, SAS, NL-SAS or SATA (up to 4 tiers) RAID configuration: RAID 1: offers best protection and great performance but least capacity RAID 5 or RAID 6: offers good capacity and protection but least performance Automatically move data to optimum storage tiers based on data hotness 4-level tiering Tier0 High performance SSD Most accessed data High performance SAS Tier1 Large capacity NL SAS Tier2 Large capacity SATA Tier3 Least accessed data Application note:

Remote replication Sync or async full data copies across systems Via FC or iSCSI host ports Up to 64 replication pairs per system The replication can be set as sync or async mode and remote replication can be done through FC or iSCSI connectivity and up to 64 replication pairs per system. In sync mode, target and source will be kept constantly synchronized. In async mode, target and source will be synchronized at user-configurable time interval, like every 2 hours or every 4 hours. Local data copies can be used to protect data from source volume fatal failure. As to remote data copies, they can be used to restart service in minutes once the local site fails due to hardware failure or disasters. Application note: * Both storage systems are required remote replication licenses

Key software feature – self-encrypting drives Disk drives and valuable data can be physically stolen, especially when disposed of Without SED SED technology prevents disk drive data from being stolen even if drives are physically obtained by other parties Compatibility with SED (self-encrypting drives) delivers unbreakable defense against disk theft or misplacement and also expedites data deletion. Benefits Ease of use and improved efficiency for data encryption Improved system performance (CPU) as encryption workload is moved on to drives directly Great for these applications: 1. Banking 2. Military 3. Government and research 4. Healthcare and critical personal info With SED Application note:
