March 4, Public Safety Broadband Update (FirstNet) and Mutualink Presented by Matthew Delaney Radio Engineer DHSES/OIEC
March 4, FirstNet – What is next? New York held its first Public Safety Broadband Working Group meeting yesterday. Next meeting is scheduled to occur before consultation. FirstNet will be coming to New York on April 20 th for our “initial consultation”. FirstNet will provide more information on designs and timelines.
March 4, FirstNet – News Breaking News from FirstNet and NTIA: SLIGP Phase 2 to begin shortly. Instead of collecting data about state and local assets, they will request data on users and user density. Reminder: If your county has not completed our mobile data survey, please do. It is important for an accurate baseline. Next FirstNet Board meeting: March 25 th. March 4, Mutualink Deployment Status Mutualink K12 school rollout in Rockland and Oneida Counties is nearly complete. Already conducting exercises using Mutualink. Mutualink Edge procurement process completed County rollout to begin shortly. Latest software release streamlines installation on mobile devices. As a reminder, the county rollout consists of 5 software licenses and 2 radio interfaces per county.
