Concept What is ViVa? an advocacy tool to visualize stock level projections and get alerted on critical situations objective is to be enable an early identification of potential stock outs and overstocking situations, so as to be able to take corrective actions in time

Concept How does ViVa work? Current stock levels UNICEF SD Confirmed deliveries Unconfirmed deliveries based on the Annual Forecasting exercise EPI UNICEF SD i.e. SMT What about countries that do not procure through UNICEF?

Pilot phase What has been done so far Design and development of the prototype tool for the following vaccines: Pentavalent, BCG, Measles, OPV, Rotavirus, Pneumococcal, TT, Yellow Fever Training of the stakeholders (EPI managers / staff) and UNICEF country offices Launch of the pilot phase in 5 countries DRC: national level + 1 reg. level Niger: national level + 1 reg. level Senegal: national level Philippines: national level Botswana: national level survey to test the interest of EPI counterparts for such a tool before scaling up and going through further development

PILOT PHASE: excel prototype developed and tested in 4 countries (2 of them including regional level ) TRANSITION PHASE: -presentation of the tool at EPI regional meetings + interested countries -development of quick win functionalities FINALIZATION PHASE: -design and development of the online web platform taking into account country feedbacks -addition of new functionalities -extension to other products (esp. devices / safety boxes) -training on the new platform ASSESSMENT OF INTEREST FROM THE PILOT COUNTRIES What’s next High level project timeline May 2014 Sep 2014 June 2015 Mar 2015
