Benchmarks - ACT ACT – According to ACT, Inc., students who reach these benchmarks have a 50% chance of obtaining a B or higher, or about a 75% chance of obtaining a C or higher in corresponding credit-bearing first-year college course.

Benchmarks - PSAT PSAT – According to the College Board, students who reach these benchmarks when they test in 10 th or 11 th grade should be considered on track to be college ready.

PVAAS Roster Verification PLEASE, and Remind your LEAs!!!!! PIMS Staff-Student-Subtest collection will be used for prepopulating the roster system (NOT Course HQT!) Staff-Student-Subtest collection deadline is March 25, 2015 at 11:59 pm o Deadline falls during the PDE Data Summit – LEAs who attend may need to submit early! o Use Cognos reports to check on data errors SIS meeting needs of PIMS state reporting for LEAs

PVAAS Roster Verification Reminders about Keystone Rosters for your LEAs! Select the correct roster(s) for Keystones o Summer 2014 tested o Winter-tested o Spring-tested Teachers may have more than one roster o Example: Teacher A teaches 2 semester-long courses in which students test at the end of the course. o Teacher A will have a Winter-tested roster (semester 1 students) and a Spring- tested roster (semester 2 students). o Example: Teacher B teaches 2 semester-long courses, as well as a year- long course. o Teacher B will have a Winter-tested roster (semester 1 students) and a Spring- tested roster (semester 2 students as well as year-long students ).

PVAAS Roster Verification Substitutes Remind LEAs about language in FAQ on Long Term Substitutes Overclaiming and Underclaiming Over-claimed students are students claimed for more than 100% across teachers/schools/LEAs. All over claiming of students WITHIN a district/LEA must be resolved. LEAs are not expected to resolve issues of over claiming of students ACROSS LEAs, UNLESS the LEAs are sharing a student(s) simultaneously (such as an IU and district) Under-claimed students are claimed for less than 100% across teachers/school/LEAS. ◦Because underclaimed students are flagged in the system, some LEAs are concerned they must resolve all instances of underclaiming… ◦However, underclaiming can be appropriate and accurate. There are legitimate reasons for under-claiming (For example: a student moved into PA/new to PA public schools part way through school year.) Common Questions We’re Hearing…
