Outline 2014 Cebu ProGED Major Activities for  LOI 1: Information and Awareness on GED  LOI 2: Green Service Facilitation and Matchmaking  LOI 3: Green Framework Conditions LOI = Line of Intervention

Activity Organize two (2) sensitization events in collaboration with CCCI, ECCP, DOST, DOE, CTU-AREC and Cebu Provincial Government targeting a total of 200 participants Output 1 LOI 1: Information and awareness on GED MSMEs and LGUs realize that being environment friendly and climate smart makes economic sense

Activities Work with CCCI, MCCI, Mega Cebu, DENR- EMB, Cebu City LGU and Cebu Province LGU to come up with a Green Award to recognize MSMEs who are implementing greening measures Support the nomination of 15 MSMEs to vie for Green Awards and ensure that five (5) MSMEs will win awards Output 2 LOI 1: Information and awareness on GED MSMEs which go green are publicly recognized, for example through green tourism standards

Activity Organize matchmaking events and small group meetings, convene the GED network, etc. to ensure that thirty (30) MSMEs green their operations this year Commission Indicator 3 No. of MSMEs have implemented recommendations on measures to increase competitiveness by adopting environment friendly… LOI 2: Green service facilitation and match making

Activity Organize five (5) matchmaking events targeting a total of 100 MSME participants. Two (2) of the matchmaking activities will be integrated within the sensitization events while three (3) will be in collaboration with three (3) BMOs. Output 3 MSMEs demand enterprise specific climate smart and environment friendly services and/or technologies which enhance their competitiveness LOI 2: Green service facilitation and match making

Activity Prepare profiles of thirty (30) green service providers detailing their service packages. Output 4 Service providers offer services (such as energy efficiency services) which are known to and demanded by MSMEs as they become environment friendly and climate smart LOI 2: Green service facilitation and match making

Activity Organize Green Financing activities within the two (2) sensitization events Dialogue with Financing institutions to offer green financing programs Output 5 More MSMEs acquire information on the requirements and possibilities to access green finance LOI 2: Green service facilitation and match making

Activity Support three (3) big companies to introduce and promote green local procurement through matchmaking initiatives. Output 6 Companies introduce climate smart and environment friendly ways of doing business within their supply chain LOI 2: Green service facilitation and match making

Output 7 DTI’s programs and approaches better support MSMEs in making their business more climate smart and environment- ally friendly LOI 3: Green framework conditions Activities DTI-Cebu will: review and integrate greening elements into the VC action plan of the three (3) provincial industry clusters review four (4) DTI programs (SSF, BUB, Product Development, CARP) and embed greening measures into them utilize these four (4) DTI programs to implement the green action plans

Activities Support Councils in drafting resolutions, e.g., incorporating the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for MSMEs with the Environment Sustainability Action Plan ordinance of Cebu City LGU Support the Councils in lobbying for the passage of the Green Building Ordinance for the Province of Cebu Support the different Councils in advocating for green incentives Commission Indicator 4 Councils have passed at least 10 resolutions … of which 3 are addressed to the national level LOI 3: Green framework conditions

Activity Organize the Cebu Green Economic Development (GED) Network to help in driving the ProGED agenda and sustain the green agenda beyond the project life Output 8 LGUs, NGAs and BMOs cooperate to use opportunities for an environment- ally friendly and climate smart development LOI 3: Green framework conditions
