What's Happening?  Your UW Bothell is moving to UW Exchange Online (Part of Office 365)

What's Happening?  You will begin using your UW instead of your UWB   uwb.edu will forward to uw.edu for the next couple years

Timeline  Two IT test groups have moved already  Early adopters moved mid - late November  Rest of campus will move early - mid December

What's going to be different?  Your address –  Global Address Book - UW directory  The UWB Outlook Directory will be gone  The way you access through the web.   Viewing public folders

Features that move with you when your migrates?  from your UWB inbox  Folders  Contacts  Calendar items  Tasks  The use of Outlook  signatures  Quick parts templates  Archived s

What cannot migrate automatically but can easily be added again?  folder rules  Delegate access  Calendar color coding  RSS feeds  Resource mailboxes  Shared calendars  Notes  from other inboxes such as UW Deskmail and Gmail

Homework before Migration  Make a note of the following resources you’d like to reconnect to after the migration:  Resource mailboxes  Shared calendars  Delegates  Rules  Notes  RSS Feeds  Calendar color coding  Remove “/” from any folder names  Be sure to save this information somewhere you can easily find again!

Homework before Migration  Update your UW directory listing in ESS  Makes you easier to find in the expansive UW directory  UWB IT has provided you instructions on our project site  Changing your NetID is possible AFTER your migrates

Outlook Preview Opportunity  All UW forwarding will be broken on this day  , calendar items, task, contacts, etc. are copying from the UWB system over to the new Office 365 system  There’s a brief period when might slip into our new inboxes before they are really ready to use

Outlook Preview Opportunity  Visit and login with UW credentials to check for errant s  Bonus: you get a sneak peek of Exchange Online!  Remember, this is only a sneak peek. Please do not start using this until your official migration day.

On Migration Day  Continue to login to your computer with your UWB credentials  Visit: for migration day instructions.  Stop sending from your UWB account  Once your account has been migrated, Outlook will tell you something is wrong. You could see this message on a PC :  This is normal. Just click “ok” and Outlook will automatically close.

On Migration Day  Create a new Outlook profile for your UW account on each PC computer you use (desktops, laptops) before reopening Outlook  Creating a new profile is different than adding an account. Be sure to create a new profile and not add an account.  When using a Mac, you will be "adding an account" as profiles do not exist for Mac.

On Migration Day  After you’ve created your new profile (or account for Macs), you can open Outlook.  It will prompt you to login again.  Use your address and password  You will see all your from your UWB inbox and all new, incoming mail

On Migration Day  Reconfigure Outlook with  shared calendars  resource mailboxes  delegates  color coding  folder rules  RSS feeds  Notes  Updating your address in your signatures

On Migration Day  Configure UW accounts on mobile devices (Phones, Tablets)  You may then delete your UWB accounts from mobile devices.
