Library Services Mission:  Provide library services to the legal community in New York and nationwide.  Facilitate access to electronic and print materials in an efficient and cost-effective manner.  Using shared resources, establish a “just in time” model for access to legal information Three aspects of service:  NYLI Collection Circulating print collection and document delivery  NYLI Remote Electronic Resources Desktop access to legal research databases  NYLI Reference and Customized Research Professional reference librarians will assist you with complex, in-depth legal and multi-disciplinary research

NYLI Services (Part 3) Reference and Customized Research Highly skilled, experienced professional librarians can provide an “extra pair of hands” to your reference desk We can: Assist with complex research projects and requests Compile federal and state legislative histories Set up bill and docket tracking Request materials from other libraries, government agencies, etc. Particular expertise in: New York State / New York City legal research Working with records and briefs (U.S. Supreme Court, Second Circuit Court of Appeals, New York State courts) Superseded and historical materials You will be advised of all possible research costs for any project
