How I Found JostensRenaissance! I sent my Principal Intern to a conference in NC about Renaissance. My Jostens Rep. convinced me to attend a JostensRenaissance National Conf. It changed me and the way I do business at school…

What is Renaissance? Renaissance is a philosophy that focuses on creating a positive and supportive school climate/culture which inspires students, staff, and the community to celebrate academic success. It’s about promoting the things you want to see more of in your building. It’s a feeling of belonging and a sense of appreciation.

What Renaissance is NOT A program you buy, plug in and walk away. A one size fits all program. No two schools are have the same approach because no two schools have the same DNA. Hard to implement – it’s actually SIMPLE!

–Your Top Athletes –Your Top Scholars –Even our repeat Discipline Referrals Who Receives the most Recognition in your school?

A little unbalance???

What % of your student population are you recognizing currently for: Academic Accomplishments Attendance Accomplishments Behavioral Accomplishments

Are you comfortable with that number? I was not!

We do a good job recognizing 20% of our students! –10% of our students receive and overwhelming majority of All the Academic Recognition – Gifted and Talented Their GPA’s are in the Top 10% of the school –Another 5% are gifted Athletically Recognized by the crowds in the stands and newspapers –3% are the popular students Homecoming King and Queen, Class Officers, etc. –2% are the discipline problems in the school It’s negative but it’s recognition and they are in your office on a regular bases

What about the other 80% of your students? You know, the kids walking your halls who feel invisible… When are they recognized? Do they receive any visible recognition? Once a year – MAYBE? Or only once every 4 years at graduation?

How Do You Recognize Your Students?

The 4 R’s of Renaissance It’s really very simple you see… Respect+Recognize+Reward+Reinforce=Results What you Respect, Recognize, Reward, and Reinforce gets accomplished!

Renaissance empowers you with enthusiasm and energy to recognize underachieving students and overworked faculty and staff.

How Do You Recognize Your Faculty and Staff Our teachers are pouring their heart and souls out to educate their students. What about our other employees who continually put in long hours doing sometimes jobs that make our schools run smoothly.

Statistics have shown that 50% of our new teachers leave the profession within the first five years. There are many outside factors that effect schools that we do not have control… But, we can control… –Lack of Recognition –Lack of Appreciation –Lack of Accolades…That we show our Faculty and Staff to boost moral…

Staffulty STAFF-UL-TY, noun A Combination of Faculty and Staff… Where every adult working in our building is essential for preparing our students for academic success.

What is the message your school is sending? When you walk the halls of your school what do you see? What are you 4-R’in in your school? The walls in your building are a blank canvas waiting to tell a story!

Take A-Ways… What we Respect, Recognize, Reward, and Reinforce gets RESULTS. There is NO Right or Wrong way. Renaissance is about the things we want to see more of in our schools – Increased Academic Success. Take 1 idea back and do it!!! Start small…

Make a Powerful, Positive Climate/Culture in your school TODAY!

JostensRenaissance Is a Journey, Not a Destination. Enjoy the Ride!
