Norway, Uganda, Kenya Category: Lobbying and Advocacy Provision of Services Governance Membership strategy

 To increase the number of women in boards and top leadership positions in the private sector  To strengthen gender equality & encourage diversity in the work place  To make the private sector an attractive work place for women  To equip women with the skills to be effective as board members and top leaders  Mobilize talents in the member companies tapping into all available talent in the company  Ensuring that member companies have access to best board candidates  The project targets talented women managers who wish to go for top leadership jobs and boards- but it is companies that are recruited to join the program

 Three modules: Leadership development, covers themes such as self awareness, self development, efficient networking, work balance, politics and power games  Rhetoric module: covers themes in the power of arguing, Logos, ethos, pathos, building self confidence, how to present oneself and voice control  Board Competence module: with exam and 7,5 credit points in Norway and 10 credit points in Uganda and Kenya covers the company act, Board theories and types of boards

 Tailor-made competence development Personal leadership training Board competence Networking and rhetoric Meeting places Profiling the candidates in media  The work-life balance Survey Focus on good solutions How to make women stay on in senior executive positions Rhetoric and Business Networking Board Competenc e Personal Leadership training

 The program shows good results: 2 out of 3 Female Future participants have either been offered board positions and /or been promoted. within six months after attending the course  6 out of 10 participants had progression of their management careers  6 of 10 has taken on one or more leadership positions  7 out of 10 say participation has given them more self-knowledge and better leadership skills

 The companies are recruited in the program  Binding Agreement - with measurable goals for both the talents and their company  Pearl diving - The company is responsible for identifying talent and motivating these to take on management positions and board posts  Create a powerful network of ambassadors:- Role models

 Department of European and International affairs in NHO is collaborating with the sister organizations FUE-Uganda, FKE-Kenya and ATE- Tanzania as one of its capacity building efforts in the development cooperation  Financed by the Development Agency NORAD  Partnering with the same module suppliers used in Norway  Via Training of trainers from credible institutions in the different countries  Modules are customized according to the needs of each organization.  Female Future remains the legal property of NHO,
