Group-I Management of Soil Health The NCT of Delhi is Having 01 Soil Testing Laboratory Which Undertakes the analysis of Soil and Water samples. Most of the soil of Delhi is normal, whereas about 7,000 hectare is having alkaline soil. The soil and water samples tested during the year 2013-14 is: Total Soil Health Card issued till Feb.2014 (last 5 years) 7000 Nos. Water Samples analyzed (Last 5 years) 143 Nos. Soil samples are tested in respect of NPK and organic carbon only. No testing of micro-nutrients are being taken-up, as there is no facility for testing of micro-nutrients is available in agriculture Deptt. Govt. of Delhi. Promotion and use of Green Manuring and Integrated Nutrients Management (INM) is being popularise among the farmers of Delhi to check the bad effect of chemical fertilizer. Soil Health Card Mission: An action plan has been prepared to provide Soil Health Cart to remaining farmers of Delhi by 2016-17.

Group-II Crop Insurance The Crop Insurance Scheme is not being implemented in Delhi being mini state, however, efforts are being made to implement the scheme in Delhi in due course of time.

Group-III Rolling Seed Plan Seed Is most Critical of all agricultural inputs and determines the performance and efficiency of other inputs, for enhancing productivity and production and thereby income of the farmers. In NCT of Delhi the farmers got quality seeds from different govt. agencies i.e NSC , IARI Pusa, New Delhi.

Group-IV Strategy to enhance the Oilseeds and Pulses Production Expansion of area under Oilseeds & Pulses for Promoting production and productivity. Laying-out of Demonstration plots for expansion of area and production. Area under Oilseeds & Pulses is limited in Delhi, being mini state.

Issues for Consideration The fertilizer requirement of N.C.T.of Delhi is limited as well as do not have rake point in Delhi, therefore, the supplies earmarked for Delhi is sent alongwith supply of Govt. of Haryana through their rake point at Sonipat. The Haryana authorities do not allow to lift the fertilizer by Delhi wholesale dealers on the pretext that there is shortage in Haryana Contd.

Contd. Issues for Consideration Fast depleting ground water level thereby reducing availability of quantum of irrigation water for Delhi. Ban by Central Water Commission (CWC) on further deepening and installation of new Tubewells in districts South-West and South. Be allowed only for irrigation purpose.

Thanks
