PROJEC T CITIZEN DAY 2- SMALL GROUP MODEL

STINGER- ALWAYS BE IN YOUR GROUP!!  1. The question assigned to me last class was:  2. I found the answer here:  3. The answer is:  4. Something else I found out is:  5. I feel this information is most useful to the __________ (problem/alternatives/solution/action plan) group.

STEP 1 TODAY- SHARE OUT RESEARCH  Each student will have 1 minute to share the research he or she completed.

STEP 2- ORGANIZING THE RESEARCH  Each student will determine which part of the binder will house each new article.  Articles will be given to each specialty group for group specific work.

STEP 3- GENERATING QUESTIONS  The class will brainstorm a list of alternatives to the problem. Some of these may have come from the previous research done on the problem section.  Ex: One article we already had mentioned that shuttering current nuclear power production could reduce long term waste by stopping the creation of new waste.

STEP 4- GENERATING NEW QUESTIONS  Students will split up into groups based on the number of alternatives brainstormed.  Each group will generate questions about their assigned alternative.  Each group will share out questions so that the whole class can work on adding questions and clarifying issues

GROUP DAILY REPORT QUESTIONS- CLASSWORK  Which group members turned in research today?  Which group members failed to turn in research today?  What did each group member do today in order to get the whole group ready to present the research?  Write a brief summary of your research so far.  What questions did you generate?  Which group members will answer which questions?

HOMEWORK  Each student will be assigned at least one research question  Find the answer to your question  Note and PRINT the source or it to me to be printed.
