What is the Commonwealth of Nations?

The Commonwealth of Nations is an organization of 53 independent countries, almost all of which were once part of the British Empire. Queen Elizabeth is the Head of the Commonwealth.

British Empire During it’s peak, the British Empire was history’s largest Empire. By the 1920’s the Empire included almost ¼ of the Earth’s total land area. and ¼ population.

The British Empire has a long history, beginning with Irish conquest and the American colonies. It peaked in the 1920’s and fell rapidly during the 20th century.
