The Costs  Sororities are self-funded organizations. Members pay dues/membership fees directly to the chapter.  Dues cover events such as  alumni/parent programming  philanthropic events  social events  scholarship programming  chapter house renovations/improvements  All chapters offer payment plans to assist members in meeting financial obligations to the chapter. The Costs  Range for 1 st semester, of first year (based on joining in fall semester)  $505-$882  Range for 2 nd semester, of first year (based on joining in fall semester)  $385 - $740  Range for Out of House Per Year  $712 - $1,562  Range for Living In House Per Year  $4,800 - $8, (Includes Mon-Fri Meal Plan)  Cost in Residence Hall + Meal Plan: $9,166 Costs of Sorority Membership

Hazing  Sorority new members all experience a period of orientation that varies in both content and length among chapters.  Hazing is absolutely forbidden by each Organization’s and the University’ s policies as well as Illinois State law.  During recruitment, the potential member will want to ask each organization specific questions about what is expected of her as a new member.  If you have any concerns regarding hazing please contact the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life or the Dean of Students Office (it can be confidential). Housing  Privately-owned chapter houses  IWU considers these as “University-Approved”  All have live-in House Directors  All have meal plans as part of the live-in experience  All have Live-in requirements ranging from 2 semesters to 4 semesters required  Beginning in 2014, IWU requires 6 semesters on campus. 4 of these can be in sorority housing Where do they live?
