utac Comparison tests on full crash test facility and hyge sled test facility in the frame of Regulation ECE R16

utac Tests parameters Tests according to the provisions of regulation ECE R16 3 points inertia reel safety belt with load limiter Comparison on safety belt load and thorax and pelvis excursion

Use of 3 different crash test facilities utac Use of 3 different crash test facilities full crash test facility Sled mass M=1200 kg - Acceleration 50 m et 25 m full crash test facility with a sandows sled Sled mass M=400 kg - Acceleration 12 m hyge sled test facility Sled mass M=1700 kg

utac Comparison of the maximum Thorax and Pelvis excursion for the 3 tests facilities full crash test facility hyge sled test facility full crash test facility with a sandows sled Acceleration distance: 50 m 25 m 12 m Sled mass : M=1200 kg M=400 kg M=1700 kg

utac Synthesis Theorically, there is no difference between the full crash test facility and the hyge sled test facility on the thorax and pelvis displacement and on the load of seat belt. The ratio dummy mass and sled mass have influence on the results.

Conclusion Regulation evolution utac Conclusion Regulation evolution Let the choice of using the hyge sled test facility The sled used for testing shall be precised (mass,…)

Conclusion First step: Second step: utac Conclusion First step: Annex addition in the following regulations ECE R14, ECE R16, ECE R17, ECE R21, ECE R44, ECE R94, ECE R95 Second step: Modification of the regulations
