Seek parenting resources. Ex: Parent Tool Kit(Ontario Directors of Education, online version available) Look through the WCI planner. Have them explain and record their long and short range plans for school work. Pay attention to homework: help them learn problem solving and understand their thinking with probing questions. Keep them healthy, good food and sleep are essential. Pay attention to their stress level. Listen to them and involve others if safety is a concern. Communicate with their teachers.
