Summer 2014 Test Results Release As the Department has communicated, the summer retest scores will be available no later than Friday, August 8. The results will be accessed in LEAPweb, and we will update both district test coordinators and superintendents through the August 5 th weekly newsletter.

Placement Tests Placement Materials Receipt Placement tests are administered for applicable transfer students seeking to enroll in grade 5 or 9 who have not participated in the LEAP test in Louisiana. Placement tests were shipped to district test coordinators in late July and are to be returned to the testing contractor mid-February. Students who participate in the spring and/or summer administration of LEAP test and fail to score at the required achievement level(s) are not eligible to take the Iowa Tests for placement purposes. Scoring documents should have been received with testing materials to allow for scoring at LEA level. Louisiana Believes

All children enrolling in kindergarten for the first time must be screened by September 30, 2014 using the Developing Skills Checklist. Teachers complete all sections of the DSC screen except for the Social/Emotional section. Results are entered through the web site K.OnlineDSC.net and must be entered no later than October 17, 2014.K.OnlineDSC.net Child ID numbers will not be entered as part of the child demographic information this year. Help-desk support is available Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00 pm eastern time at Option 2. Louisiana Believes Developing Skills Checklist for Kindergarten

Webinars for Developing Skills Checklist Webinar training sessions are being scheduled by Red-e Set Grow for kindergarten teachers and administrators. Visit the website to sign-up for upcoming webinar sessions. Sessions are limited to the first 100 people to sign-up. All sessions are recorded and posted on the website for viewing. This year there will be three (3) sessions for teacher in the month of August and two (2) sessions in the month of September for administrators.

Information about teacher user accounts are included in your district worksheet. The worksheet is currently available for download on the state’s download FTP site for your district. Teachers assigned to classrooms last year will use their same user id and password. New teachers should be added in the columns provided on your districts worksheet. Teachers who are not longer employed in your district should be noted on your districts worksheet. Teachers with changed school or classroom assignment should be listed next to their new classroom/site in the space provided. After all changes are made your district worksheet/roster of teacher users to or by August 19 th. Please insert valid addresses for each teacher account if not present. This is used to validate the teacher account when the “Forgot Password” link is selected from the log-in page. Developing Skills Checklist Teacher Worksheets

Districts may either import or manually enter student and classroom data. Districts interested in importing student and classroom data should contact Dean Caldwell ( ext. 1701) or Matt Bodenheimer ( ext. 1708) at Red-e Set Grow for information on importing student If your district will be importing student records, teachers should not enroll students in their classroom or attempt to enter DSC results prior to the import. LDOE will provide data files to Red-e Set Grow this year in September and again in October for purposes of reconciling student data between the State’s Student Information System (SIS) and the DSC database. EAGLE Updates 21 Louisiana Believes Archived Tests ( ) in EAGLE All district-administered tests (DAT) and teacher-created tests will be archived and available to users when the new system enhancements are released in early September. IMPORTANT: The EAGLE item bank is being reviewed now through the end of the year. As a result of this effort, items may shift in grade and standard alignment. All archived tests should be reviewed by district and school users before administering to students. Failure to do so, could result is misaligned tests and missing items.

EAGLE Updates 22 Louisiana Believes EAGLE Maintenance Schedule The EAGLE system will be unavailable on August 1-10, 2014 due to yearly maintenance. If you have any questions, please contact the EAGLE Help Desk at

EAGLE Updates 23 Louisiana Believes Obtaining User Accounts (District/School Level) in EAGLE All accounts from the previous school year will remain active for the school year. Beginning on August 11, 2014 district and school users are encouraged to clean up user accounts in the EAGLE system. District Administrators are encouraged to login and review their list of School Administrators. School Administrators are encouraged to login and review their list of Teachers. Users may use the add, modify, and delete functions in EAGLE to update names and establish account information. A spreadsheet with a list of current EAGLE users for your district can be requested by ing Dana Maxie at An EAGLE User Login template can be used to distribute user names and passwords. Data Certification Timeline Accountability ItemData Certification Window ACT High School Progress Points Dropout Credit Accumulation Index (DCAI) August 6– August 20 Assessment (LEAP/iLEAP/LAA1/LAA2/EOC) K-8 Progress Points August 13 – August 27 As in past years, the data certification process will occur in early fall, to allow districts time to certify, update, and review data used for calculating school performance scores. Any assessment errors that are not corrected during the data certification window shall not be used as grounds for an appeal or waiver request regardless of the source of any errors (Bulletin 111, Section 3107).

Data Certification Grad Cohort Final output file for grad cohort corrections will be placed in district FTP. Files will include final decisions on submissions. School Choice Act 853 expands school choice to D and F schools, not just F schools. Act 853 The LDOE is working with the superintendents association, the school board association, and the bill author on guidance for districts. Local districts should implement these provisions as they have in prior years while the guidance is being finalized. A preliminary “F” list will not be released.
