How many universities and programs can I choose to apply to on my application? You may apply to as many Ontario universities/programs as you wish; however, you are limited to a maximum of three program choices at any one university (including affiliates). Some universities may further limit the number of programs to which you may apply. Make sure that you carefully read the details and instructions offered by each institution. Consult the individual university websites or contact the universities directly for more information.

1. VISA / MasterCard / American Express: You will need the card number, expiry date and the cardholder’s name. 2.Online / Telephone Banking: You will receive an account number from the OUAC as soon as you submit your application. 3. Cheque / Money Order: You must send the cheque or money order by mail within two weeks of submitting your online application. Paying for Your Application You have the following three options:

Debunking the Myths Myth: College is an easier alternative to university. Fact: They are equally demanding. What makes it different is the smaller learning environment, personalized attention and the blend of theory and practical application. Myth: College is for students that can’t get into university. Fact: A good percentage of students in college have already completed university study. College is suitable for students that benefit from an alternate learning style and are looking for the skills to be job ready on Day 1.

Myth: University is the key to getting a job. Fact: Maybe years ago. Employers now demand staff that have the theoretical knowledge but also the practical skills to be job-ready on day 1. Employers report a 93% satisfaction rate with college graduates, higher than can be said for university graduates. Myth:I have to apply to college or university. Fact: You can apply to both, in fact we recommend it. See your counsellor for application instructions.

Why Choose College? Offers the program you want. Experiential, practical and engaging. Smaller classes and lower tuition. Can be combined with a university degree

Blurred Lines CollegeUniversity Certificates (1yr)Degrees Diplomas (2&4yrs)Certificates Applied & Prof. Designation Bachelor Degrees (may be 3 or 4 yrs with very different admission requirements) Joint/hybrid programs and transfer agreements are increasingly common.

Why Choose University? You enjoy a theory based program Tends to be research based. Usually more academically demanding. Can lead to professional designation degrees. (Master’s/Ph.D., law or medical school)

Application Amendments In mid ‑ February, the universities begin the early adjudication process and discourage amendments to program choices. February 3, 2015, is the recommended last date to submit all information to the OUAC, including university and program changes, as well as additional university/program choices, in order to be eligible for consideration for early admission. This is not a deadline date; changes will be accepted and processed by the OUAC at any time. Some universities may not be able to process late amendments until much later in the admission cycle.

Out of Province Affiliates The OUAC assists the following out ‑ of ‑ province institutions in collecting academic data for Ontario secondary school students who have applied through the OUAC: Bishop’s University The University of British Columbia The University of Calgary Concordia University Dalhousie University McGill University The University of New Brunswick Saint Mary’s University Simon Fraser University The University of Victoria Students who complete an application form for these out ‑ of ‑ province universities can provide authorization for a university to request their academic information from the OUAC. To provide authorization, the applicant must include their 11 ‑ digit OUAC Reference Number on the institution’s application form. Note: In all cases, the eleventh digit should be “0”. This automated transfer of academic data greatly reduces the work load in secondary schools by eliminating the need to prepare and mail hardcopy transcripts.

Royal Military College Applying to the Royal Military College of Canada The Royal Military College of Canada (RMCC), located in Kingston, Ontario, is not part of the OUAC’s processing service. A separate form, along with additional application materials, must be obtained from a Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre. Call the Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre at 1 ‑ 800 ‑ 856 ‑ 8488 or visit the RMCC website at: ‑ cmr.cawww.rmc ‑ cmr.ca.
