Admissions-2014 M.Phil. and Ph.D. Biological Sciences (NIAB) & Biotechnology (NIBGE) NIAB and NIBGE are serving the nation as centers of excellence in R&D of nuclear oriented advance research in Biological Sciences and in the field of Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering. NIAB For the last 42 years is contributing in the areas of Agriculture & Biology whereas NIBGE for last two decades as a centre of excellence in Biotechnology. NIBGE is also an affiliate centre of the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) Trieste, Italy. Submit duly filled admission form (can be downloaded from (Biological Sciences) or (Biotechnology) accompanied with attested copies of the certificates of qualification, domicile, character certificate, detailed marks certificate, three passport size photographs and no objection certificate from the employer in case of in-service candidates. Incomplete form may cause delay in admission or termination of candidature. There will be written test and interview for M.Phil. admission. However, for Ph.D. admission, candidates have to appear for an interview only. The candidates are directed to bring their CNIC, original certificates, thesis/research report and a copy of publication(s) at the time of interview. Selected candidates will be required to submit university migration certificate. A non-refundable bank draft/pay order of Rs.2000/- in the name of NIAB (for Biological Sciences) and NIBGE (for Biotechnology) should accompany the application form. All Pakistani nationals can apply for M.Phil admission, with minimum qualification of M.Sc./BS degree (16 years of education), in the field of Natural Sciences/Agricultural Sciences/ M.B.B.S./DVM/ Pharm.D from HEC recognized university. For Ph.D admission, Pakistani nationals with minimum qualification of M.Sc. (Hones)/MPhil degree (18-years of education) in the field of Biology /Agriculture/ Veterinary/Environment Sciences or Bioinformatics from HEC recognized university. First class academic career will be preferred. However, one second division (not <50% marks) is allowed. At least 3.0 CGPA (out of 4) or equivalent is required in the final degree. The candidate will be required to qualify NIAB & NIBGE written test for admission in M.Phil. HEC scholarship holders will be given preference. PAEC employees, may apply through proper channel. Subject GRE Test is mandatory for Ph.D admission, as per HEC Guidelines. INCENTIVE FOR TOPPERS Top position holder in last degree may be given partial or complete tuition fee waiver.
