HOME IS A PLACE, WHICH PROVIDES COMFORT AND MEETS AN INDIVIDUAL’S NEED FOR SAFETY, SECURITY, IDENTITY AND A SENSE OF BELONGINGNESS. HOME IS A PLACE, WHICH PROVIDES COMFORT AND MEETS AN INDIVIDUAL’S NEED FOR SAFETY, SECURITY, IDENTITY AND A SENSE OF BELONGINGNESS. HOMESCIENCE PROVIDES AN UNDERSTANDING OF DESIGNING AND ARRANGING THE ENVIRONMENT AT HOME IN SUCH A MANNER THAT IT PROMOTES HEALTHY PHYSICAL AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIVIDUALS. HOMESCIENCE PROVIDES AN UNDERSTANDING OF DESIGNING AND ARRANGING THE ENVIRONMENT AT HOME IN SUCH A MANNER THAT IT PROMOTES HEALTHY PHYSICAL AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIVIDUALS.

 HOME SCIENCE IS A FIELD OF STUDY WITH ITS MISSION TO EMPOWER INDIVIDUAL, FAMILY AND COMMUNITY FOR EFFECTIVE ROLE PERFORMANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF RESOURCES TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE. IT PRIMARILY EMERGED OUT OF THE FELT NEED FOR A COMPREHENSIVE TYPE OF TRAINING FOR GIRLS IN THE CONTEXT OF CHANGES IN THE SOCIO- ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT AS WELL AS THE CHANGES IN THE FAMILY SYSTEM AND FUNCTIONS.

 IT IS A UNIQUE FEATURE OF HOME SCIENCE EDUCATION THAT OVER AND ABOVE PRODUCING PROFESSIONAL IN HOME SCIENCE, IT INCULCATES A SENSE OF SOCIAL AWARENESS AND SPIRIT OF SERVICE TO THE SOCIETY.  THE ISSUES RELATED TO SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF RESOURCES, WOMEN EMPOWERMENT, ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNICATION SKILLS ETC. ARE INCLUDED PROPERLY IN THE CURRICULUM.

 IF SOME WORKABLE SOLUTION CAN BE FOUND HOME SCIENCE EDUCATION IS A VITAL FIELD FOR PROMOTION OF GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT. IT WOULD THUS BE AN ASSET NOT ONLY TO INDIVIDUALS BUT TO ORGANIZATIONS WHO NEED THEIR EXPERTISE. THIS WILL RESULT IN RICHER AND FULLER HOME LIFE WHICH IS AN ULTIMATE GOAL OF HOME SCIENCE EDUCATION AND ALSO RICHNESS OF SOCIETY EVEN TODAY IS MEASURED IN TERMS OF RICHNESS OF THE HOMES AND FAMILIES IN A GIVEN SOCIETY.

  MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE

EMPOWERMENT  BUILDING THE ABILITY AND SKILLS OF WOMEN TO GAIN INSIGHT OF ACTIONS AND ISSUES IN THE EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT WHICH INFLUENCE THEM, AND TO BUILD THEIR CAPACITY TO GET INVOLVED AND VOICE THEIR CONCERNS IN THESE EXTERNAL PROCESSES, AND MAKE INFORMED DECISIONS.

NEW AVENUES  IT MAKES THE ROLE OF TIME AND DISTANCE LESS SIGNIFICANT IN ORGANISING BUSINESS AND PRODUCTION RELATED ACTIVITIES. WOMEN THEREFORE CAN WORK FROM ANYWHERE AND AT ANYTIME AND RAISE THAT EXTRA INCOME TO BECOME MORE FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT AND EMPOWERED.

  STATE THE AIM CLEARLY.   INCLUDE NUMERICAL GOALS THAT REQUIRE FUNDAMENTAL CHANGE TO THE SYSTEM.   SET STRETCH GOALS.   AVOID AIM DRIFT.   BE PREPARED TO REFOCUS THE AIM.

BOTTOM LINE  THERE ARE MANY PATHS TO SUCCESS, EXPLORE OPTIONS AND CHOOSE WHAT SUITS YOU.  ACHIEVE GOALS ON YOUR OWN TERMS.  GET EDUCATED, GET EXPERIENCE AND NETWORK WITH PEERS.  CHOOSE TO LIVE WELL, REMOVE STRESS AT HOME AND AT WORK

WHAT CAN STRESS LEAD TO?  LOW PRODUCTIVITY  ANGER  FRUSTRATION  WORK RELATED INJURIES  LACK OF CONCENTRATION  ANXIETY  PANIC ATTACKS  DEPRESSION
