“Party with a Purpose” Charity Event Party with a Purpose is an innovative, multi-party collaborative event, hosted by Rudy and Natalie Brown, Ramona Holloway, Lifting As We Climb Foundation, Dirty Eight Productions and BLT Steak, to raise awareness in the African American community in Charlotte around two critical important issues, child homelessness and support of our Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The proceeds from this two-day charitable event will benefit A Child’s Place and The Charlotte POST Foundation. With over 4,000 students experiencing a homeless crisis in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and over 90% identifying as Black or African American, the charity event for A Child’s Place during CIAA brings the perfect opportunity to inform and engage the community around this issue affecting our children and their education. Additionally, The Charlotte POST Foundation has continued to support the educational needs of diverse, elementary school-aged youth with literacy programs. These programs address the 18% of 3 rd graders in Charlotte Mecklenburg School system are not reading at grade level. The two-night Party with A Purpose Charity Event is a red carpet, exquisite event for mature audiences (30 and up) at the elegant venue, BLT Steak at the Ritz-Carlton Charlotte.
