Students, scholars and staff interested in participating in the mobility scheme will apply on- line with the completed application being visible to the home, the coordinating and the host institution.application Students/Staff applicants can only list two intended destinations in their applications.

The application process will be executed in a 4 phase process: Phase 1: Application forms (posted online) will need to be filled out by all TG applicants and upload the required documents required documents Host Universities must accept TG1 home university language certificates if applicants do not have a specific accreditation: TOEFL, IELTS, etc.

Language certification, such as TOEFL, IELTS, etc. can be required by the host institution in the case of applicants from TG2 and TG3. Eventually Host Universities may require applicants to complete an on line interview to evaluate their language proficiency. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

Phase 2: Home Institutions will perform an initial eligibility check of applicants that is outlined by EACEA guidelines. Applicants who pass the initial eligibility check will have their applications forwarded to their listed potential host institutions for review.

Both home and host institutions will review and score applications. Scoring preference, however, will be given to the host institution. The home institution will evaluate one third of an applicant’s score, with the other two thirds being evaluated by the host institution.

Phase 3: Shortlisted applicants may be contacted by either the home or host institution for interviews. Remote communication means may be used for this purpose.

Phase 4: The SC will meet to perform final review of applications and scorings from home and host institutions and determine who will receive scholarships. Notifications will be sent via to scholarship recipients by the Selection Board. Rejected Candidates will be able to appeal and/or request justification from the Selection Board for why their applications were rejected. Visa application process and further guidance ensues upon students’ acceptances of scholarships.

Acceptance of the Grant The selected candidate has the responsibility to fulfill the admission criteria of his/her home and host universities before starting the mobility. The grant can only be awarded to the participant once all of the admission requirements of the home, the host, and the coordinating institutions are fulfilled.

Should students accept an EMBER scholarship, all partners have the obligation to notify the applicant that he/she must withdraw his/her application from other EMA2 projects to which s/he has applied.

The application submission system will require all applicants to upload the following documents: A scan of the applicants´ passport Proof that the applicant is registered at an institution as a student or staff member A motivation statement A 12-month Declaration Form CV/Resume Language certification A 2nd Scholarship Form

Please, remember that all the documents should be translated into English as it is the working language of the Consortium. Applicants from Target Group 3 will be required to provide additional proof of their disadvantaged status. Target Group 3 applicants are also not required to adhere to the 12 month requirement.12 month requirement

Third Country students Undergraduate, Master and Doctoral students, Post-doctoral researchers and staff registered and/or working at universities from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine (the Erasmus Mundus Lot 5 countries), and nationals in particularly vulnerable situations, who are interested in studying in those EU institutions which are members of the EMBER consortium.

In order to be an eligible candidate, the participant must comply with the following requirements: Must be a national of one of the Third Countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine. Must belong to the Target Group 1, Target Group 2 or Target Group 3 (see below for description)

Must not have resided nor have carried out their main activity (studies, work, etc) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in any of the EU countries at the time of submitting their application to the partnership. (This rule does not apply to Target Group 3 candidates). Proof of language level may be required by the host university.

European students and staff Undergraduate, Master and Doctoral students, Post-doctoral researchers and staff registered and/or working at universities of the EU partner countries who are interested in studying in one of the 11 Partner Universities from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova or Ukraine.

In order to be an eligible candidate, the following requirements apply: Must be a national of the European Union: Estonia, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, and Sweden. Must belong to Target Group 1. Must have sufficient knowledge of the language of the courses or of one of the languages currently spoken in the host country.

Proof of language level may be required by the host university. Please note that undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of higher education studies in their home institution.

Target Group 1 (TG1) Nationals of the 3rd and EU countries who are registered or work in one of the universities within the partnership. Applicants from TG1 may apply for: Undergraduate Master Doctorate Post-doctorate Academic or Administrative Staff

Target Group 2 (TG2) –not Undergraduate- Nationals of the 3rd countries that are registered or work in a University that is not included in the partnership but is concerned by the geographical lot. Applicants from TG2 may apply for: Master Doctorate Post-doctorate Academic or Administrative Staff

Target Group 3 (TG3) –not Staff- Nationals of the 3rd-countries in particularly vulnerable situations: Refugee status or asylum beneficiaries Unjustified expulsion from University (racial, ethnic, religious, political) Indigenous population, IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) Applicants from TG3 may apply for: Undergraduate Master Doctorate Post-doctorate

Undergraduate Mobilities for students registered in undergraduate programmes at their home university, who have successfully completed at least one year of their studies. Third Countries to EU: 10 months EU to Third Countries: 6 months Financial Information: Subsistence: 1.000€/month

Master Mobilities for students who are currently registered in a Master’s programme at their home university. Duration: Third Countries to EU: 10 months EU to Third Countries: 10 months Financial Information: Subsistence: 1.000€/month

Doctorate Mobilities for students who are currently enrolled in a Doctoral programme at their home university. Duration: Third Countries to EU: 16 months EU to Third Countries: 10 months Financial Information: Subsistence: 1.500€/month

Post-doctorate Mobilities for researchers holding a Doctorate degree. Duration: Third Countries to EU: 10 months EU to Third Countries: 9 months Financial Information: Subsistence: 1.800€/month

Staff Mobilities for academic and administrative staff who are nationals of one of the eligible countries that work in/or are associated to: One of the Third Country members or EU HEIs participating in the partnership (TG1) An HEI (not included in the partnership) of any Third Country concerned by the lot or any European country (TG2).
