Black Loyalists Our Inquiry Question: How was life for black loyalists before the American revolution, during it and after it .

Outline Who are black loyalists? How would you feel if you were a black loyalist? What were the black loyalists used for before the war, during the war and after the war? Why did the British offer to set the back loyalists free if they volunteered to do military services? How did the American revolution affect the black loyalists? Who were the loyalists? What did the loyalists do after the war in Halifax, New Brunswick, Nova scotia and other cites along the way?

Who are black loyalists? Black loyalists were former slaves They fought in the American revolution on the British side They fought to earn their freedom and safety while working under king George III The black loyalists originally came from Africa

How would you feel if you were a black loyalist before the American revolution? Feel enraged Forced labour Taken away from family Abused Unproper living conditions

What were black loyalists used for before, during and after the American revolution? Before the American revolution black loyalists were used as slaves They worked under the British in military ways Then after the war they had to migrate to Canada

What did the loyalists do in Canada? The white loyalists used the black loyalists for cheap labor They went to Halifax, New Brunswick and Nova scotia The black loyalists were offered to go back to Africa but the ones who stayed made there own communities and made an honest living

Our answer to our inquiry question Before the war the black loyalists were slaves for random people During the war they were offered safety and freedom if they worked under king George the III After the war they had to migrate to Canada because the Americans did not want them in their country
