 1992 –Adherence  Complete phase out of CFCs - (5 yrs before target date set)  Embarked on HCFC phase out (target 2025 for complete phase-out of HCFCs – mainly R22, R123, R141b ) HPMP Sectoral use of Refrigerants

1. Political Will  Environmental Protection – Top priority for government 2. Institutional framework  Setting up of NOU at the Ministry of Environment 3. Legislative framework  The Consumer Protection Regulations 2013 (control import of equipment/appliances)  The Dangerous Chemicals Control Act 2004  The Environment Protection Act 2002  ODS Import licensing system (control import of controlled refrigerants) 4. Public and Private partnership  Represented in Steering Committee

Concurrent implementation of the provisions of the Montreal Protocol and the Kyoto Protocol. Leapfrog to Natural Refrigerants ( Hydrocarbons, Ammonia, Carbon dioxide ) Both climate and ozone friendly  Zero ODP ( Montreal Protocol )  Low GWP ( Kyoto Protocol)  Energy efficient ( Kyoto Protocol )
