Oh no!! An outbreak of music loss has swept the entire nation! No one, including Mrs. Piccolo the music teacher, remembers the musical instrument ensembles. You are the only one who can reteach everyone in the world about the String, Wind, Jazz and Marching Band ensembles. Rapido!

*Students will be in groups of 4. *Students will be assigned 1 out of the 4 ensembles. *Students will learn the different instruments in a string, wind, jazz, and marching band ensemble. *In their groups, students will do a poster to present to the class on their findings. *Students will find a song from the assigned ensemble to play for the class. Process

What instruments are in the string ensemble? What instruments are in the wind ensemble? What instruments are in the brass ensemble? What instruments are in the marching band ensemble? List one composer from each ensemble. Why do you think music is important around the world? Each group needs to answer, and present to the class:

MIDDLE/JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL Music Standard 26.B.3cMusic: Sing or play with expression and accuracy a variety of music representing diverse cultures and styles.
