PAPER 1 AND PAPER 2 Pn. Nur Rashidah Khairunnisa.

 Will be assessed through two papers.  Paper 1 - Objective. 50 minute. Section A – 10 questions- 10 marks. Section B – 5 questions- 5 marks. Section C – 10 questions- 10 marks. Section D – 5 questions- 5 marks. Section E – 10 questions- 10 marks. Total- 40 marks.

 Paper 2 – Subjective. - 1 hour 15 minutes. - Section A- Sentence Construction- 10 marks. - Section B- Information Transfer ( a )- 10 marks. - Information Transfer ( b )- 5 marks. - Section C- Note Expansion- 15 marks. Total- 40 marks.

 Section A :  Based on vocabulary ( perbendaharaan kata )  - word, phrases or sentence level.  Section B :  Based on social and language expression.  - correct social expression with visual clues as guide. - appropriate vocabulary based on given situations.

 - parts of speech based on visual and  textual clues.  *based on pictures.  * two bubbles appear in each picture.  * determine the exact situation.  * choose the appropriate response.

 Section C :  Pupils knowledge and understanding of grammar.  - grammatical items, spelling and punctuations. - synonyms ( sama erti ) and antonyms ( kata lawan )

 Section D :  - based on text completion ( cloze passage )  - wholly picture dependent.  - five blanks.  * parts of speech ( grammar )

 Section E :  Based on Reading and Comprehension.  10 multiple choice questions based on 2 passages.  This section require the candidates to think beyond the text. (means rely on their experience / prior knowledge )

 Section A :  - sentence construction based on the given words and graphics. -composite picture with helping words. - the pupils may also choose not to use all the words. - write 5 sentences.

 Section B :  - an information transfer question.  - 10 blankest.  - read and understand information pertaining to three items based on the various topics or Areas of Learning in the syllabus. Spelling. Punctuation. Legibility.

 Section C :  Note expansion.  Write an essay in a few paragraphs based on the pictures and words given.  Read the instruction.  Good command of the language to score high marks in this section.

 Read and understand the questions.  Relate the pictures or graphics to the answers given.  Understand the situation and dialogue.  Look carefully for all the punctuation marks given.  For the cloze passage, look carefully at the picture given.

 Read the passage twice.  Read all the given options A, B, C, D before choosing the best answer.  Answer all the questions given.  For comprehension question, read the passage at least twice so that they can have a better understanding of the text.

 Look at the pictures and observe the activities and situation in it.  The helping words given will help the candidates to get the general ideas.  Pupils may or may not use the helping words.  The sentences must be related to the situation in the pictures.

 When transferring information from the original text, should be very careful with the spelling of words, capital letters and punctuations.  Simple sentences, compound sentences and complex sentences can be used to construct sentences.  For question 3, try to write in paragraphs.  Usage of dictionary is highly recommended.
