How Do We Think & Act? I hope I pass this test. I’ll be happy if I don’t get any more consequences this term. It won’t matter if I miss training a couple of times. I do my homework most of the time. I think my parents will be happy if I get no 4s on my report.
How Do We Think & Act? Are we happy just to hope for the best? Do alright? Get it right some or most of the time? Our teachers have high aspirations for us. Are our aspirations high enough for ourselves? Let’s turn our hopeful, ‘laid- back’ statements into aspirational statements…
Aspirations I hope I pass this test….. …….but if I don’t I might drop down a class so ……. ….I’m determined to pass this test because I want to move up to a higher class!
Aspirations I’ll be happy if I don’t get any more consequences this term...but if I do I’ll be really annoyed so….. ……I’m going to make sure I don’t get any more consequences this term – that way I’ll get good reports and a good reference when I leave!
Aspirations It won’t matter if I miss training a couple of times. … but if I do I won’t be as fit and I might lose my place in the team so…. …I can’t afford to miss training at all. I want to make sure we win the competition!
Aspirations I do my homework most of the time…. …. but when I don’t I sometimes fall behind in class so now …….. ……I make sure my homework is done right away – that will help me learn more in class.
Aspirations I think my parents will be happy if I get no 4s on my report. CAN YOU TURN THIS INTO AN ASPIRATIONAL STATEMENT? HANDS UP!
Aspirations If we all have high ASPIRATIONS in OUR SCHOOL we will achieve so much more in OUR FUTURE
