Community Health Project (CHP) Mission  The mission of the Community Health Project is to provide an interdisciplinary, service learning internship that enhances the educational experience of students in the health professions by immersing them in public health and social service settings.

WHO?M1 Students (KC, Wichita, AND Salina campus) PharmD, DN, OT, PT, Health Policy & Management students WHAT?Internship at an area public health or social service agency Summer immersion experience culminates in a meaningful final project WHERE? Students choose area of interest – match process with agencies. Locations throughout KS and Kansas City Metro area – new agencies okay WHEN?8 weeks in the summer (June 1-July 24) Showcase in last week of July/first week in August WHY?Learn about different factors that impact health Make a difference locally Increased flexibility in fourth year 4 credit hrs + Stipend ($2500 -$4500) CHP Basics

Two Opportunities for Roles in CHP  Student Directors (2)  One year commitment  February  $4,500 scholarship  Plan for CHP year  Organize program calendar and events  Communicate with interns, agencies and faculty advisors  Advocate for CHP and community health  Student Interns  8 weeks  June to end of July  $2,500  Interview w/ 3 possible agencies of your choice  Education through agency immersion  Educational conferences  Final Project and Presentation

Application Process  Applications Available by December 12 th – watch  Director Applications due Monday, January 5  Interviews for Directors (Jan 6– Jan 9)  Directors Selected  Can submit one application for both roles  Intern Applications due February 9  Interns Selected  Interns Interview with up to 3 agencies (Feb 23 – Mar 11)  Match Notifications Given (March 17)  2 nd Round Match if needed  Internship runs from June 1 st to July 24 th (8 weeks) for more info
