Archmere Academy Scholarship & Financial Aid Workshop December 6, 2014

Admissions Process Entrance Exam (early December) Application (available online starting mid October) due January 5th, 2015 Interview (January-February) Notification (January-February)

Archmere’s Entrance Exam Our own exam testing four areas: Language Usage, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension & Math Results mailed back in mid-December Test results determine academic scholarship awards: Top 20% of testers receive an automatic $2,000 annual award. Larger annual scholarships of $3,000-$10,000 will take into account interview, recommendations, and transcripts. Leadership Scholarships of varying amounts ($1-5k) awarded each year to students who demonstrate proven leadership qualities in their school and community activities. The committee will determine these awards based on teacher recommendations, transcript and interview.

Admissions Application Available online on the Candidate Page We request transcripts from 7th grade to present Two recommendations from teachers of two academic subjects Any other recent standardized testing results are welcome, but not necessary Application: $50 fee Application Deadline is 1/5/2015

Interview Time frame for interview will be enclosed with Entrance Exam results Your application file with all forms completed is necessary to schedule an interview The interview is informational – please come with lots of questions! Most interviews are conducted in January and early February

Notification Students are accepted on a rolling basis with reply dates of early February, mid-February and March 1 depending upon completion of the process and pending financial aid decisions Once you have received your enrollment package, we ask that you respond within a 10 day time frame to secure your child’s seat. Please keep us aware of pending deadlines with other schools to which you have applied.

Tuition & Financial Aid Tuition for the 2015-2016 school year is $24,200 To qualify for assistance, each family must demonstrate need. Archmere’s Financial Aid Committee uses a third party (SSS) as a resource to help assess each family’s level of need. To apply for financial aid, visit http://sssbynais.org

Financial Aid Awards The Financial Aid Committee seeks to make the Archmere experience possible for the greatest number of families. However, due to the fact that demand for financial aid outweighs our available funds, it is possible that not all families’ needs can be met in full. Financial Aid Grants are annual and valid for 4 years and each family will need to re-apply each year. Largest award is one-half full tuition. All family and financial information is kept in the fullest confidence by the Committee

Family’s Checklist New Families complete online Parents Financial Statement (PFS) to SSS by January 15th Any special family circumstances can be documented within the PFS and will be taken into consideration by the Committee. Families send or upload copies of 2013 tax return, 2013 W2’s and Form 4506-T to SSS Families send copies of 2014 tax return and 2014 W2’s to SSS no later than March 31st
