Assumptions All attendees have access or are familiar with Online Reporting platform. All attendees are aware that XBRL has been mandated as only reporting format for Preparatory Solvency II reporting. All attendees are familiar with XBRL and constructs. All XBRL instance files will be generated against taxonomy v.1.5.2c. All XBRL instance files will reference level 1 entry points of taxonomy. Key Assumptions 13th April 20155

File Naming Convention For all return types, the name of the file must be in the following format: “CCCCCCC_YYYYMMDD_XXXXXX_XXXXX.ext” where CCCCCCC is the institution code (The 6/7 institution alphanumeric code used for logging into Online Reporting) YYYYMMDD is the return reporting date (not submission date) e.g XXXXXX_XXXXX is the Solvency II “Return File type” on the ONR system (see next slide for individual Return type file names).ext is the file extension. – For XBRL files it must be either ‘.xbrl’ or ‘.zip’ – For Narrative files it must be either.xls,.xlsx,.doc,.docx or pdf. Online Reporting XBRL Submission The look and feel of Online Reporting will not change New return types will be added to the system for Preparatory Solvency II Existing return types will remain unchanged User Access will be automatically granted to firm administrators for the new return types Data for the Preparatory Solvency II return types can only be submitted using the file upload functionality i.e. no alternative input methods will be provided For XBRL return types, validation errors from the validation engine will be displayed to the user on the Online Reporting system Online Reporting XBRL Submission 13th April 20159

Key Points Preparatory Solvency II XBRL returns must be submitted in XBRL format only No web form solution will be available for data input Firm’s responsibility to create valid XBRL instance files No partial XBRL uploads will be accepted Direct visualisation of submission will be through Excel only. N.B All XBRL instances should be validated against the relevant taxonomy before being uploaded to the Online Reporting system Only fully validated XBRL instances will be accepted Online Reporting XBRL Submission 13th April
The schema reference must refer to a valid entry point for level 1 reporting for taxonomy v1.5.2c as in following table. For valid files, the following tasks will be performed: For XBRL returns – One to confirm acceptance of file – Second to confirm Excel file generated. For Narrative Returns – No as redirected to section files page if file valid. Final Steps – Finalise Return – Separate user to sign off return. – sent to confirm receipt of return.
