He wrote novels, short stories and plays, as well as poetry, and is also known for his engagement with the world of jazz and the influence it had on his writing,   His life and work were enormously important in shaping the artistic contributions of the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s. He wanted to tell the stories of his people in ways that reflected their actual culture, including both their suffering and their love of music, laughter, and language itself. (positive image) now days its construed explain harlem rennisances: they were not going to let their background lives define who they wanted to become. The Harlem Renaissance showed the entire world that these people who were once thought of as slaves: people who could not think for themselves, could not be educated and were not allowed equal rights were now making significant contributions to societies all over the world in all facets of education, literature, the arts, and culture. African Americans were being respected for their contributions especially in the north of the U.S. and as a result, segregation was changing into integration. explain how when we read something its thru the lens of someone else and written in a different context/world-tie it to today

I Dream A World I dream a world where man I dream a world where people No other man will scorn, Where love will bless the earth And peace its paths adorn I dream a world where all Will know sweet freedom’s way, Where greed no longer saps the soul Nor avarice blights our day. A world I dream where black or white, Whatever race you be, Will share the bounties of the earth And every man is free, Where wretchedness will hang its head And joy, like a pearl, Attends the needs of all mankind- Of such I dream, my world! Langston Hughes I dream a world where people No longer will judge, Where stereotypes are forgotten And if criticized hold no grudge I dream a world where all Will witness cancer’s cure, Where families are at peace Yielding joy so pure. A world I dream where rich or poor, Whatever economic label, Will access quality education And gaps are closed, all students are enabled Where selflessness reigns supreme And peace, like a dove Is attainable in our corrupt world Of such I dream, my world!
