CARBON CYCLE

CARBON CYCLE What element is found in all living things on Earth?   What is the food-producing process in plants? Write the chemical equation for this process. Why could you say that plants store carbon? What would happen if all the plants on earth died? Where does the carbon in fossil fuels come from? How have humans caused an imbalance in the carbon cycle? Why is the burning of fossil fuels a concern for scientists? Who are the producers in the illustration? Who are the consumers in the illustration? What process do animals, plants and decomposers use to add carbon back into the atmosphere? What is the equation for this process?

NITROGEN CYCLE

NITROGEN CYCLE Explain why bacteria are the most important part of the nitrogen cycle.      How do animals obtain usable nitrogen? What two organic compounds is nitrogen used to build? What is the name of the bacteria that converts nitrogen from the atmosphere into a form plants can use? Where do the bacteria, mentioned in the above question, live? Explain the statement “Nutrients do not flow in one direction in the ecosystem, they recycle through the ecosystem.”
