Max 5 First stage design

Part 1: Find animals Four samples: –Chicken, non-aggressive. Tests first attack. –Boar, aggressive. Tests first aggressive mob. –Crow, non-aggressive. Tests flying capture. –Chicken, non-aggressive. Hidden. The last animal will require a puzzle in game.

The last animal is located in an inaccessible strip of land in the water. While the player could capture it, they would not be able to check the animal unless they were there. To do this, the player must find a boat on the other side of the island. Resources needed: Boat and Broken Boat

Part 2: Find lab There are a few methods of finding the lab. Two possible ways are: ExplosionBirds fly away Either idea will be shown as a cutscene after the last animal has been captured and checked.

The player then heads toward the source of the commotion. This can be done through some rock climbing and trailblazing until they find the lab. They know that there is something over there, so there should be signs of civilization (rubble, tracks, trash, etc.) the closer they get.

When the player arrives at the lab, they will see a car that is in front of the door. As they approach, it will suddenly start and drive off. This will show that the lab was just abandoned by whomever last occupied it.

Part 3: Parallel Computing Upon entering the lab, the main room is a mess. All of the doors are locked. A lone computer sits on the reception desk. Players can start the hacker game tutorial here.

Part 4: Samples in lab Players will now have the ability to explore the lab. There will be a number of office rooms. To keep a sense of atmosphere, not all rooms contain materials important to the player. Some rooms can contain different notes that the player can read about research. Some rooms have barrels that are on fire, showing that many of the notes are being burned. In one office, the player finds a keycard. This will unlock the door to the main laboratory room.

Upon entry to the main lab, the player finds a few loose animals, notes being burned, and rubble in a large area. The lab itself is largely destroyed. The player might be able to find a corpse of a scientist here if that will narrate the story further.

After catching a few animals, the place begins to shake and rumble. One of the computers suddenly boots up. The player can access it, but it needs a password. To understand the basics of GCAT, the player will just simply solve a matching puzzle to begin with, where they have to match G with C, and A with T. They see the sequence before and after.

After accessing the computer, the rumbling increases, and the player must escape. This can be done either through cutscene or though the player’s actions. The stage ends with the player looking at the collapsing lab. The pickup aircraft slowly descends.
