“What to Expect on Concert Day” Visual Support Board 1

Welcome to the McCoy Center! 2

After you enter the building, stop at WILL CALL if you need to pick up your tickets and then you will walk down this hallway to the auditorium. Bathrooms are located on the right at the end of the hallway. 3 WILL CALL

If you would like to try an instrument or make a craft, you can do this in the lobby before you go to your seat in the concert hall. 4

You will enter the concert hall through these doors. An usher will take your ticket and show you to your seat. 5

When you enter the hall, you can choose to sit upstairs or downstairs. 6 If you choose to sit upstairs, you can get there by going up either set of stairs to the left or right of the entrance to the hall, or by the elevator located right behind the stairs in this photo.

The concert will start at 11:30 a.m. The orchestra’s Executive Director, Heather Garner, will welcome everyone, and then the Concertmaster will enter the stage to tune the orchestra. You can clap for her and she will take a bow. 7

Maestro Luis Biava will step out on stage. Conductors love when you clap or yell BRAVO! 8

Our guest narrator will enter the stage. He will be telling you the story while the orchestra plays. His name is Jym Ganahl. 9

The concert begins with a piece called “Ferdinand the Bull.” This is a story about a bull that did not behave the way other bulls behaved… 10 This piece is 17 minutes long. If you would like to stay and listen, that is great! If you need to get up and walk around while you listen that is ok too. If you need to take a break, you can visit the instruments in the lobby or make a craft.

When a piece is over, you can clap and yell bravo to let the musicians know how much you liked it! 11

The next piece on the program is called “Peter and the Wolf.” It involves dancers and a narrator. We hope you like it! 12 This piece is also 17 minutes long. Feel free to stay and listen or take a break when you need it in the lobby.

When the concert is over, you can clap and yell BRAVO! Maestro Luis Biava will tell the orchestra to stand and have everyone take a bow. Thank you for coming to our concert. We hope to see you again soon! 13
