Value of the month for October

What does compassion mean?

Some examples of compassion in daily life...

Can you think of any times when people have shown you compassion?

As a school we try to show compassion to others.....

Compassion The word ‘Compassion’ comes from the Latin words: ‘pate’ and ‘cum’ which together mean ‘to suffer with’. Compassion challenges us to reach out to those in most need of our help.

Jesus demonstrated many acts of compassion Feeding people Teaching people Healing people

Jesus told a parable to teach us the importance of compassion Watch the short video clip and reflect on what Jesus was trying to teach us.

How are you going to be compassionate today….

Let us pray…….. Lord, please let me see those around me that are in need of my compassion. Help me to listen to them, to hear their needs. Give me the heart to be interested in their troubles and provide for me the means to help them. I want to be compassionate. I want to be like you that had so much compassion for the world that you sacrificed your Son on a cross for us. Help me Lord to consider others as I consider myself. Amen

Psalm 102 The Lord is compassion and love, slow to anger and rich in mercy.
