What are some ways that glaciers can affect the surface of the Earth?

Glaciers can: -erode rocks and sediment on a mountainside. -push sediment on top of other sediment, creating layers. -breakdown different landforms. -deliver sediment into an area creating deposition.

Erosion is the process of moving sediment from one location to another. Erosion often occurs on hillsides. What are some things that we can do to slow down erosion?

Answers can include: -plant grass on the hillside. The roots help to hold the soil in place. -Place large rocks on the hillside to hold the soil in place. Create a drainage system so that rain cannot move the soil as quickly.

What is the main source of energy for ALL life on Earth? (This includes plants, animals, cycles, etc.)

Explain weathering, erosion and deposition.

Erosion is the process of moving sediment from one place to another. Weathering is the breaking down of large rocks into smaller rocks. Eventually, soil is formed this way. Deposition is the process of dropping off sediment into a new location. Deltas are formed because of deposition.

How are fossil fuels formed?

Fossil Fuels formed from buried remains of plant and animal life that was changed by millions of years of pressure and heat.
