Office of the Federal Coordinator for Meteorology This panel, features users of satellite data, products and services from leading federal and industry representatives. The Federal Coordinator for Meteorology will provide a broad view of the critical importance of environmental satellites to our nation. Panel discussion and Q&A will: –Address the often asked questions, "Why do we need to invest in expensive environmental satellites, and what is the range of benefits that users get?". –Help the conference attendees fully appreciate that many federal agencies depend on timely and uninterrupted NESDIS satellite data and information services in order to fulfill their missions. –Demonstrate the diversity of Federal agency customers and users of environmental satellite data and information services. Office of the Federal Coordinator for Meteorology Satellite program requirements definition and implementation are critical Coordination across the Federal agencies and User Community is a must –OFCM established the Committee on Operational Environmental Satellites (COES) to improve communication, dialogue, cooperation among the key federal environmental satellite data users.
