12 United Way of Pitt County | School Success For every 50 children who don’t learn to read in kindergarten, 44 will still be struggling in 3 rd grade AND are unlikely to graduate. Research shows grades and absenteeism rates by 3 rd grade can predict dropouts.
13 United Way of Pitt County | School Success 800 at-risk children receive academic support every day. 85% of these students are performing at grade level or better of the 600 at-risk students graduating from the Student Success Academy remain on track toward high school graduation 100%
