Hi Lilly! My name is Hamlet. Will you join me for a coral reef adventure? Great!!

Follow me!!

This is a coral reef. Coral reefs are found all over the world in warm waters. Coral reefs are home to thousands of different animals, like coral, fish, and crustaceans.

What’s living, is a bunch of tiny animals, and looks like a rock? Coral!

Coral comes in many shapes and sizes,

and consists of hundreds of tiny animals called coral polyps.

Thousands of fish use coral for food and shelter

Do you see the 2 spotfin butterflyfish? 1 2

There’s green moray eel hiding in the reef. Watch out! He comes out mostly at night

This is the giant goliath grouper. He’s the ‘king’ of the reef. A goliath grouper can grow up to 8 feet long and weight up to 800pounds!

Where is the scorpion fish? Can you see his: eye, mouth, and fin?

Like fish, many other animals live in the coral reef, like this lobster. He’s a crustacean.

Crawling slowly is this snail called a flamingo tongue.

Worms also live in the reef, like these Christmas Tree worms 1 2 3

Over the reef top glides an eagle ray! If you stood him on end he’d reach from floor to ceiling!

Here’s a loggerhead turtle swimming with a barracuda. Grab shell dudes!!

This is a jellyfish. They’re not really fish, but are cousins of coral. Like coral, they have tentacles to catch their food. They are found in all the oceans in schools of millions

Oh no!! A shark! Let’s get out of here!

Wow!! That was fun. See you next time!
