WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF REDDIT?  A social media site where you can find what’s new and popular on the web! 2

REDDIT’S POPULAR FEATURES  The ability to vote links as either up or down.  Karma: It’s a number shown next to a username that reflects how much good the user has done towards reddit. Submitting more links that other people like and vote for gains more karma. 3 The up arrow helps users vote for good links. The down arrow represents the links that users think is junk.  Subreddits: Are link categories that reddit is divided into. Ranging from Educational, Image Sharing, and Humor.

WHAT IS REDDIT USED FOR?  Reddit is a one stop place for the latest entertainment, trends, and news.  It’s a social networking service that lets users submit all sorts of content.  For people to find your niche within multiple subreddits.  To build a community. 6

WHY MIGHT WE CARE ABOUT REDDIT AND ITS USES?  Reddit is a home for people’s many voices and opinions.  As a user, you have the choice to upvote or downvote the links.  Voting allows a person to view links that are relevant to them and their interests.  We should care about reddit, because it is a place full of content. WHY MIGHT WE ADOPT REDDIT? 8 It’s quite simple actually. Reddit is just the place to be! It’s like reading the newspaper. Reddit is interactive and personalized. Under one website contains what’s going on in the entire universe!

REDDIT’S SOCIAL MEDIA CHARACTERISTICS.  It is considered as an information aggregator.  Contains a platform to build social networks.  Allows individual to create their own profiles.  Users are allowed to view and share their ideas with others.  Entries are organized by subreddits.  Users are allowed to vote submissions to organize the posts’ in order of popularity.  Lots of voices and opinions are on Reddit. 9
