Assessment Tool EPBD and F gases Regulation Debrecen/Nuremberg October 2014 Karsten Beermann/Attila Zoltán

ASSESSMENT TOOL EPBD and F gases A project funded by EU DG Education in the context of lifelong learning the "transfer of Innovation" This project will be finished by 31 October The result of this assessment tool are based on the criteria of the European directives and standards and is developed to assess students, employees, companies etc. Suitable for use for specific applications such as EPBD and F Gas Regulation

ASSESSMENT TOOL EPBD and F gases Assessment tool is divided into 7 parts so the existing competence need not be assessed: 1 EPBD Background 2 Airconditioning background 3 Refrigeration background 4 AC, Refrigerant based systems (DX) 5 AC, Air based systems (AHU) 6 AC, Water based systems (Chiller) 7 EPBD National requirements

ASSESSMENT TOOL EPBD and F gases The output of the assessment tool is that the participant will receive a report with his/her current level of knowledge in the form of diverse charts or tables. With this report, participant have an overview of what he already knows and were is a leak of knowledge and needs to learn to be as EPBD inspector and / or F gas engineer qualified. In other words, the participant knows what they did/does not know.

ASSESSMENT TOOL EPBD and F gases Based on this report, a training program can be made so that one can be EPBD and / or F gas engineer. Successfully qualified for certification after training. Before the start of the assessment, it identifies the knowledge and experience they have of the parts of the assessment tool. These parts can be skipped over.

ASSESSMENT TOOL EPBD and F gases A

ASSESSMENT TOOL EPBD and F gases The content of the part “EPBD Background” is: statements 2.The objective of the EPBD regulations. 3.Calculation criteria that affect the energy consumption for existing buildings and new construction 4.Inspections and reports 5.Advise the operator on those points that effect energy consumption

ASSESSMENT TOOL EPBD and F gases Content of the part “Airconditioning background” is: 1.70 statements 2.The general facts of an AC system by the EPBD regulation. 3.The heat-load aspects of an AC system f.i. people, lightling, physical of the building ect. 4.Humidity of air, Mollier diagram, wet and dry bulb temperature 5.The major components and their influence on energy performance in a AC system 6.Knowledge of figures of the technical description, and documentation, particular the energy aspects.

ASSESSMENT TOOL EPBD and F gases Content of the part “Refrigeration background” is: statements based on EN The basic facts of the refrigeration circuit of an AC system 3.The of COP facts of a Refrigeration circuit 4.Log p/h refrigerant diagram 5.The major components and their influence at energy performance in a AC system 6.Knowledge of figures of the technical description, and documentation particular the energy aspects

ASSESSMENT TOOL EPBD and F gases Content of the part “AC Refrigeration background” is: statements 2.Major components of an AC as a multi-split and VRV systems 3.Construction of different kind evaporators for inside units such as wall- and ceiling mounted inner units 4.Important leakcheck points 5.Proper piping and insulation points

ASSESSMENT TOOL EPBD and F gases Content of the part “AC Air based” is: Statements 2.The basic facts of the airduct circuit of an AC system 3.The air distribution facts of a duct circuit 4.The fans and their influence at energy performance in a AC system 5.Knowledge of figures of the technical description, and documentation particular the energy aspects

ASSESSMENT TOOL EPBD and F gases Content of the part “AC water based” is: Statements 2.The basic facts of the water circuit of an AC system 3.The hydraulic facts of a piping circuit 4.The pumps and their influence at energy performance in an AC system 5.Knowledge of figures of the technical description, and documentation particular the energy aspects

ASSESSMENT TOOL EPBD and F gases Content of the part “EPBD National regulation” is: This is an optional part of the assessment tool. Because each EU country EPBD regulation should fit into its own laws Their is an example given in this EPEP tool
