New curriculum Sensational Start What they already know Learning Tasks Fantastic Finish Our topics this year will include: Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, Adventure The lion, the witch and the wardrobe, Earth and Space and Ancient Greece

Homework Given out by week 2 of each term Choice of 6 open ended tasks. Children expected to complete at least 4 of them. Looking for high quality work in year 5. Expectations are high in terms of presentation and content. Reading, spelling and times table practise expected to continue throughout the term. More information to follow

Assemblies Every other Thursday – Celebration Assembly where certificates are issued and birthdays are celebrated. You will continue to be notified about certificates a week in advance in the “ What we are learning sheet” or on the website The last Friday of each term has a whole school celebration assembly led by Mrs Griffin Each class will also do a book assembly and a class topic assembly once per year. Dates will be issued in advance

Year 6 Camp Next year the camp will be held at the start of the school year rather than at the end. You will be receiving further information about this soon.
