1. Develop China Timber Legality Verification Scheme (CTLVS)  Develop the CTLVS with the support from UK, EU etc.  Should be cost-effective, easily operational and adapted to China situation  Regulate the legal wood source both from domestic market and international market  Try to meet all the legal requirements from international markets  The scheme and standards framework have been developed  Pilot work will be done in the industry this year

2. Promote the guidelines development and application for overseas forest companies  Guidelines on Sustainable Forest Cultivation for Chinese Oversea Enterprises and Guidelines on Sustainable Forest Management and Use for Chinese Oversea Enterprises were formulated by the Chinese government in 2007 and  Guidelines on Sustainable Forest Trade and Investment has been developed and will be issued soon.  The country-specific guidelines and incentive mechanism are under developing

3. Develop and Promote China Forest Certification Scheme (CFCS)  CFCS operating in 2007  Lead by Science and Technology Center, State Forestry Administration;  Be PEFC members in 2011 and finally recognized by PEFC in 2014 ;  28 FMEs with 7.27 million ha forest certified by CFCC; In addition: 67 FMEs with 3.00 mill ha forest FSC certified, 4339 companies with FSC-CoC certificates by November, 2014; 327 companies with PEFC-CoC certificates by April, 2015

Initiate China Responsible Forest Product Trade and Investment Alliance and Promote Sector self-discipline Objectives: Promoting responsible forest product trade in China Responsible, Fair, Mutual-Help, Reciprocity Mission Framework of communication Enhancement of market link Service to the industry Policy dialogues

5. Strengthen the trade dialogue and capacity building work for the industry  Series of training workshop and dialogue on responsible forest product trade held in China with the support of different stakeholders;  More than 30 workshop held since 2009;  Involve in the wood legality, forest governance, sustainable forestry and market development  Technique support for the industry on responsible forest product trade Series tools, guidance and training materials developed for the industry: Capacity building and training for the industry

Insufficient support and capacity building for China-Africa forest product trade  The government foreign-aid projects  Mainly focus on the government officials and researchers;  67 training held for developing countries in ;  Involve in forest governance, wildlife protection, bamboo processing, wetland administration  NGOs and research organizations play a key role for the training and capacity building work for the private company  Insufficient support to China-Africa forest product trade  Lack of the communication ways and mechanism to work with the Chinese company in Africa countries;  Lack of the incentive for the private industry to involve in the process:  Insufficient support from the government foreign aid training projects to the private sector
