Red-tailed Hawk: Mascot By: Student Council

Meaning of the Red-tailed Hawk The Red-tailed Hawk has many symbolic meanings, such as:  The ability to fly and reach the skies- represents the ability to go above and beyond.  Use the power of focus- this represents the student body’s ability to focus academically as well as athletically.

Swoop!  The picture on the right is from the 1969 yearbook.  Swoop is considered to be a battle cry. Student Council plans to continue to use the idea of swoop, especially during sporting events.  It will also be used during pep rallies.  Swoop will be used to show the unity and passion that Morrisville-Eaton possesses.

Student Body  Over 90% of the student body wanted to move forward with the Crimson Warriors and the Red-tailed Hawk as a mascot.  Throughout the process of finding a mascot, the students have become united and enthusiastic.  No negative comments have been voiced.

Student Involvement  Many students have come to Student Council with ideas such as t-shirts, graphics and more.  Other ideas brought to our attention is to paint a Red-tailed Hawk somewhere within the gym. Underneath the painting it could say, “Home of the Crimson Warriors.”  The Red-tailed Hawk coordinates with our school crest.

The Mascot  A mascot would increase the amount of spirit and also unite the student body.  The mascot would participate in sporting events and pep rallies.  The mascot will be wearing a set of wings, a jersey of the sport being played and also face paint.  As time goes on, we hope to have a head for the mascot.
