Wasatch Education, Assessment, and Referral Services Online Substance Abuse Assessments WEARS is an ethical working partner with Tri county Treatment

We are highly trained and operating in our scope of practice in our specialty area Our mission is to provide ethical and high quality assessments quickly to client and to the courts. Technology allows clients to easily access screening tools and complete court orders quickly.

Advantages of online assessments?  Anyone with access to a computer with internet and knows how to type can complete an assessment  Ideal for quick results before court appearances  Assessment can be complete within hours  Unbiased third party accurately assesses client for treatment  Meets DOPL rules and regulations regarding assessments

Where is the assessment completed? → Clients can log in from anywhere in the United States → Perfect for out of town clients that need an assessment approved in Utah → Phone contact is made to client where they are located Voice verification is made by counselor for one on one support, motivation, and verification

How is the information reported to court, attorney, or client? Within hours of completing the ASI screening tool, SASSI screening tool and phone interview, a report will be generated and ed or faxed to Judge or Attorney. Clients will receive information and complete interview over the phone with a Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor (LSAC) “Our out of town clients love your services” Rachel, SLC legal secretary

After Assessment then what? LSAC completing the assessment is available to attend court hearings Case Management services available to clients as they transition to treatment services.

Still need more information? Substance abuse assessment criteria is found on the DOPL website under LSAC rules. The process includes an initial screening and assessment. W.E.A.R.S. Assessments meet State sentencing guidelines. Subsections 41-6a-505(1), (2), and (3)

Why do I need an assessment and/or recommended treatment? The provisions in Subsections 41-6a-505 (3) that require a sentencing court to order a convicted person to participate in a screening, an assessment, or an educational series. "Initial Assessment" means the procedure of gathering psycho-social information, which may include the application of the Addiction Severity Index, in order to recommend a level of treatment and to assist the mental health therapist supervisor in the information collection process and may include a referral to an appropriate treatment program. R156-60d Utah Code

The greatest common denominator for success in treatment was immediate involvement upon a set of circumstances that encouraged change, ie. criminal charges, death, divorce and accuracy in assessing treatment and/or deterrence needs. The number one reason for relapse is STRESS. Misdiagnosis and extreme assessments can cause immediate relapse. FACTS

Client can complete classes online with W.E.A.R.S Theft deterrence Anger management Thinking errors Marijuana deterrence Personal contact pre and post completion of course over the phone. Post test is given and graded to assure course comprehension If your client is not savvy to navigating the services, case management services are available.
