Jews Come Under Roman Rule When conquering Judea, Romans gave control of religion to the Jews. The Jews believed that a Messiah, or savior would appear and restore the kingdom to the Jews. Jesus was born in Bethlehem.
Why Christianity Spread It embraced all people- men and women; slaves, the poor, and nobles. Gave hope to the powerless. Offered a personal relationship with god. Promised eternal life after death. Went against the beliefs of the Romans
Constantine Roman Emperor Constantine put the symbol of Christ on his soldiers shields. After winning the empire Constantine credited the Christian God for the victories. In 380 A.D. Christianity was named the official religion of Rome
