We provide: A holistic and impartial information, advice and guidance service for prospective Birkbeck and University of East London students

The IAG service is….. We provide impartial information, advice and guidance tailored to meet the needs of individuals who aspire to progress to university. Our service is Matrix accredited and our advisers are trained to support prospective students to access and progress through a range of educational opportunities to enable them to become successful students From level 2 Maths and English to Access courses, from preparatory programmes to post graduate study we can advise on the full range of flexible routes into and through higher education including certificates, extended degrees, part time and evening study.

How we do it…… a drop-in and appointment service providing fast access to information, advice and guidance Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5pm an evening appointment service 5pm to 7pm Monday to Thursday a range of taster sessions and preparatory courses for students interested in progressing to university or returning to education advice and guidance by routed from the UEL and Birkbeck websites referral to specialist support services at both institutions in areas such as student finance and disability and dyslexia sign posting to events and activities taking place in and around University Square Stratford

Starting Out: short course UEL and BBK An introduction to University 5 week programme 2 hours per week Includes mini lectures, course advice, skills for University study End of course certificate ceremony Progression to UEL and BBK preparatory programmes and referrals to Access
