NECESSARY EQUIPMENT Tripod is essential for sharp photos Good DSLR is preferable Zoom lens – 35mm minimum Remote shutter release Small flashlight

PLANNING Location is everything. Arrive early. Know where the airbursts will occur Check all settings in advance Vertical or horizontal? Frame for wide area and adjust during show Expect a lot of bad photos – you only need a couple good ones

EXECUTION Manual focus and manual exposure. Turn off stabilization ISO100 or lowest available Exposure f11 – this is a starting point Focus on infinity minus. Listen for mortar, wait 2 seconds, release shutter, expose 4 seconds or bulb Finale will be very bright – adjust to f 22 or higher
