Part 5: Overview of Nanostructuring Surfaces
We have looked in detail at ink transfer and radiation methodologies. But as you can see there are other mechanical methodologies for nanostructuring surfaces, which involve (i)Nano-positioning: Pushing/Picking up atoms/molecules around a surface with a scanning probe microscope (AFM/STM) (ii)Nano-indentation: Pushing an AFM tip into a surface to make a crater or scratching the surface by dragging the tip allong the substrate surface. (iii)Nano-shaving: Removing a SAM by dragging the AFP tip through the SAM
We have examined 4 possible next generation lithogrpahy methodologies in detail: EBL SNP uCP DPN You should be able to describe each methodology in detail: Methods Materials Surfaces Chemistries Resolutions Advantages Disadvantages etc In addition, you should be able to compare these methodologies both with each other and with photolithography.
