It’s not enough to talk about networking any more: you have to be networked

The future’s already here. We just didn’t notice its arrival (because we’ve been so busy doing our jobs). It’s time to move on.

Information skills: a new curriculum

Stuff we need to teach our students Understanding the power of RSS, collaborative filtering, etc. How to use tools like Zotero, Jing, bookmarklets, Delicious, CiteULike, Mendeley... How to deal with IP issues -- Creative Commons etc. How to build your own specialised search engine How to do real-time and localised search How to read URLs, use URL shorteners, QR codes, etc Audio and video search Etc., etc., etc., etc...
